The Kansas City Chiefs had an utterly disappointing 2025 campaign. Just one year removed from making the Super Bowl, not only did the Chiefs cede control of the AFC West to the Denver Broncos, but they failed to make the playoffs at all.

The Chiefs also saw star quarterback Patrick Mahomes tear his ACL late in the season. If all of that weren’t enough, most came into the year expecting this to be it for star tight end Travis Kelce.

Following the end of the brutal season, Kelce said that he intended to take some time and see where he was at when it came to calling it a career or giving it another go around.

“I mean, who knows? Who knows? Either it hits me quick, or I’ve got to take some time,” Kelce said. “I think last year was a little bit easier. I think I knew right away I wanted to give this one a shot. So we’ll see.”

Now, another source has confirmed that Kelce is, in fact, undecided on what he’s going to do and will continue to think things over.

“I did an interview with him on Christmas, sat down with him, spent some time with him after that on a personal level, and I really believe — he said it in the interview — he’s like, ‘I really don’t know.’ I believe him,” NFL legend Tony Gonzalez said, according to Card Player.

If Kelce comes back, it’ll be interesting to see if the Chiefs can surround him and Mahomes with enough talent to be successful.
