The Atlanta Falcons have made another addition to their coaching staff, hiring Matt Jones as the new assistant offensive line coach, the team announced on Friday afternoon. Jones spent the last three years working for the Tennessee Titans.
After serving as the Titans assistant offensive line coach in 2023, Jones was promoted to an offensive assistant role for the last two seasons. Jones previously coached at the University of Tennessee at Martin from 2019 to 2022.
“Jones spent four seasons at Tennessee-Martin as the run-game coordinator, offensive line coach and tight ends coach,” wrote Falcons team reporter Tori McElhaney. “Prior to joining UT-Martin, Jones had stops as an offensive line coach at Texas Southern (2017-18), Jackson State (2016), Tulane (2014-15), Villanova (tight ends, 2013), Avila University (2011-12) and the University of Saint Francis (Illinois) (2002-10).”
The Falcons have now filled out much of their coaching staff. Atlanta hired Tommy Rees as offensive coordinator, Robert Prince as wide receivers coach, Bill Callahan as offensive line coach, Kevin Koger as tight ends coach, Nate Ollie as defensive lineman coach and Justin Hood as secondary coach.
Atlanta brought on Craig Aukerman as the new special teams coach and retained defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich.
