Jesse Minter is bring Marcus Brady from the Chargers to the Ravens as his pass game coordinator

The Baltimore Ravens have been one of the more active teams to begin the offseason. After surprisingly firing head coach John Harbaugh in the wake of their disappointing 2025 campaign, the team quickly hired former Los Angeles Chargers‘ defensive coordinator Jesse Minter to come in and be his replacement.

Minter has since begun working on filling out his coaching staff as he looks to build a strong foundation for Lamar Jackson and the rest of the Ravens’ deep roster. With his latest addition, Minter is bringing one of his old friends, Marcus Brady, with him from Los Angeles to Baltimore, as he was recently hired to join his new-look coaching staff.

Minter has spent the past couple of years working his way up the ranks in the world of coaching, and after completely transforming the Chargers’ defense in his two seasons with the team, he earned himself a head coach job with the Ravens. Now, he’s going to have to find a way to help this team get over the hump and win a Super Bowl.

Throughout his coaching career, pretty much all of Minter’s experience has come while working on the defensive side of the ball. While he should be able to help the Ravens improve on that side of the field in 2026, he’s going to need some help when it comes to running the offense, especially with expectations surrounding this group being so high.

That’s where Brady comes into play. After previously working as the Indianapolis Colts’ offensive coordinator for two years in 2021 and 2022, Brady has since spent time with both the Philadelphia Eagles and the Chargers. Now, he’ll be joining the Ravens as a key member of Minter’s staff, as he will be the team’s offensive pass game coordinator.

“Ravens are hiring veteran NFL coach Marcus Brady as pass-game coordinator, per source,” Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reported in a post on X. “Brady comes over with Jesse Minter from Chargers, where Brady had same role. Matt Zenitz first on expected move.”

Whereas Minter is a defense-first coach, Brady is an offense-first coach. He has a wealth of experience working on that side of the ball, and his experience as an offensive coordinator will make him a guy that Minter can rely on as he transitions into his first head coach role. Plus, these two guys worked together for the past two seasons, so that previous relationship should help Minter out, too.

Things are coming along quite well for Minter as he fills out his coaching staff, but this is only the first item on the Ravens’ offseason to-do list. Once Minter finalizes his staff, the team is going to have to begin figuring out how they can improve their roster for the 2026 campaign and beyond. This is a very important offseason in Baltimore, and the work Minter does now will play a big role in determining how successful he is in his first year with the team.
