Jacksonville Jaguars’Â safety Andrew Wingard is set to be a free agent this upcoming offseason.
So what might his next contract look like, and will the Jaguars re-sign him?
Andrew Wingard free agent contract projection
According to Spotrac, Wingard is projected to earn a two-year deal worth $11.73 million. That’s good for an average annual value of $5.9 million.
In terms of player age, contract status, and statistical production, Eric Murray, Mike Edwards, and Will Harris were used by Spotrac as comparisons to determine what Wingard’s deal could be.

I imagine in a perfect world that the Jaguars would love to have Wingard back. However, my guess is that he ends up signing elsewhere.
Murray is still under contract, and we also saw the emergence of Antonio Johnson last season. He went from filling the third safety role to being someone that you don’t want to take off the field.
Jacksonville also invested two draft picks into the safety position last offseason, selecting Caleb Ransaw and Rayuan Lane.
Wingard started 17 games last season. He made 89 total tackles, while recording one interception and four pass breakups in coverage.
Prediction: Signs elsewhere
