Police are reportedly investigating the physical altercation that occurred on December 21 between Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf and Detroit Lions fan Ryan Kennedy.

According to a report from Christian Romo of Detroit Free Press, the Detroit Police Department “have been investigating” the incident between Kennedy and Metcalf.

“The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office also confirmed to the Free Press that Detroit police submitted a warrant request on Jan. 21 that is currently being reviewed,” Romo wrote. “Neither department revealed who the warrant request was for, while the prosecutor says that no one has been charged in relation to the incident.”

During the Week 16 matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Detroit Lions, Metcalf was spotted grabbing Kennedy by his shirt and then forcefully shoving him backward, just narrowly avoiding making contact with his head. Metcalf was suspended two games for his actions.

On February 3, Kennedy named the Steelers organization, Metcalf, Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, Shannon Sharpe’s media companies, and Ford Field in a $100 million lawsuit, with complaints ranging from defamation to negligence and more.
