Denver Broncos cornerback Jahdae Barron caused some alarm in Broncos Country on Wednesday when he posted a photo that appears to show him in a hospital bed.

Fortunately, it was merely a “routine cleanup,” according to Andrew Mason of DenverSports.com. Mason described it as a “typical type of procedure” that many players have following a season, and he noted that Barron will be “good to go.”

Barron (5-11, 194 pounds) was picked by the Broncos in the first round of last year’s NFL draft out of Texas. Competing for playing time in a crowded secondary, Barron got 334 defensive snaps in his rookie season. Riley Moss (1,089), Pat Surtain (864) and Ja’Quan McMillian (742) led the team’s cornerback snaps in 2025.

Barron totaled 35 tackles, five pass breakups, one interception and one fumble recovery in 17 games (five starts).

Denver quarterback Bo Nix had a cleanup procedure on his ankle following his rookie season, forcing him to opt out of being added to last season’s Pro Bowl as an alternate. Nix, of course, also underwent ankle surgery after suffering a season-ending injury in the divisional round of the 2025 NFL playoffs.

Nix and Barron will now aim to recover in time for the start of the team’s offseason program in April.
