Heading into Super Bowl weekend, there is always a flurry of mock drafts that hit the street, and this weekend appears to be no different.
One of the latest to drop was NFL.com analytics expert Cynthia Frelund, who uses an unconventional method in her mock, and with it comes results different from those of the majority of mocks released by other analysts and experts. And her selection by the Tennessee Titans backs that up.
Pick 4 – Tennessee Titans – OT Spencer Fano – Utah
Fano could play tackle or guard. He ranks as my top OL in this class based on his balanced results in pass pro and run blocking.
Because she uses a projection of salary cap space, available free agents, and needs, it’s possible that Tennessee fills some of its voids before the draft and takes the best available player, which could be Fano. But it still feels like a stretch. The Titans have invested heavily in their offensive line in recent seasons, and it would be hard to imagine a third first-round offensive tackle in the past four drafts.

While both Arvelle Reese (New York Jets) and Reuben Bain (Arizona Cardinals) are off the board, passing on edge David Bailey (Washington Commanders) is a head scratcher, even if the Titans added some edge depth in free agency. Bailey appears to be a perfect fit for Robert Saleh and his defense, and would potentially give Tennessee another impact defender. If it’s not Bailey, a cornerback or wide receiver would seem to hold more value at that spot.
