As podcasters navigate the world of Radio Row at the Super Bowl, the people they run into can always give a hot take on a question, and that happened again on Friday when the Sick Podcast caught up with analyst Chris Simms and asked a pointed question about the Tennessee Titans

Simms was asked about new offensive coordinator Brian Daboll and whether he thought his addition could take Cam Ward to the next level, and the former NFL quarterback didn’t hold back.

“I do, right? I’m a big Brian Daboll fan. I know it didn’t work out great with the Giants there, but as an offensive coordinator, I think he is pretty damn special. And I will also say, I think he’s worthy of being head coach once again, too.” Simms said, “But yes, you know what I’ve seen from Brian Daboll back when in Buffalo with Josh Allen, or even back at Alabama, and what he was doing. I would think this is why, if he didn’t get a head coaching job again, he wanted to go there because he’s like, “Wait, this quarterback can do everything. Sidearm, slinging lasers down the field, makes people miss, play backyard football.” And I think that’s gonna make any offensive coordinator kind of happy for sure.

Simms’ comments do align with the way many across the NFL view Daboll, and their thoughts about him joining the Titans. The fact that he reportedly passed up similar positions at places more ready to win now speaks volumes about the way he views Ward and what he believes he can accomplish in Nashville.
