Before Nick Foles and Doug Pederson led the Philadelphia Eagles to victory in Super Bowl 52 over Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, Brady dashed the hopes of a previous generation of Eagles in Super Bowl 39.
And he apparently still feels sorry for it.
A Super Bowl 39 ticket from Brady’s personal collection is currently a part of PSA’s Spotlight Auction on eBay.
In addition to Brady’s signature, the ticket also includes a special inscription: “Sorry Andy, Donovan, TO” — a reference to then Eagles head coach Andy Reid, quarterback Donovan McNabb and wide receiver Terrell Owens. Brady threw for 236 yards and two touchdowns as the Patriots beat the Eagles 24-21 to win the third of an eventual seven Super Bowl titles in his career.

Bidding on the ticket is over $2,500, and the auction ends Saturday night.
The auction includes items not only from Brady’s collection but also from the collections of Peyton and Eli Manning — mainly trading cards of themselves.
“Throughout their careers, these athletes amassed sizable collections of cards of themselves from a variety of products,” PSA said. “As they individually became more active and engaged in the hobby space, one way PSA has helped them along is in curating key cards and sets they appeared in, then taking it a step further by collaborating to create unique collectibles with features like detailed, timely inscriptions based on the item.”
Another Super Bowl item with a notable inscription in the same auction comes from Eli Manning’s collection. He signed a 2008 Topps Chrome card highlighting his Super Bowl 42 win and drew the X’s and O’s of the famous “helmet catch” play right on the card (he didn’t add an apology to Brady, whose Patriots lost that game to Manning’s New York Giants 17-14, though). Bidding on the card is over $5,000.

One set of football cards now in Peyton Manning’s collection that isn’t included in the auction is a framed set of cards representing each player who helped him set the 1998 rookie record of 28 interceptions, which his loving younger brother gave him to commemorate the final ManningCast of the season.
It’s undoubtedly an item Peyton will cherish forever.
The gift that keeps on giving: a frame with the card of every guy who intercepted Peyton his rookie year.
