GREEN BAY (WLUK) – We have reached the one month mark since Green Bay hosted the 2025 NFL Draft, but could the big event ever return to Titletown?
FOX 11 asked Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy that question as part of an exclusive interview that will be part of the “FOX 11 Draft 25: Touchdown in Titletown” special that will air Monday at 9:30 p.m. on FOX 11.
The part of the interview shared on Friday is Murphy answering whether he has talked to NFL Commissioner Rodger Goodell about the possibility of the draft ever returning to Green Bay.
I have not, although, I did talk with Rodger. He was very, very complimentary. He was really pleased with the draft. I think other cities, other communities, seeing what we did…you probably saw in 2027 the draft will go to Washington D.C. I think there are 20 cities now that have expressed an interest in hosting the draft. We’d love to have another draft here, but likely going to be quite a few roads down the road.
The NFL has previously said it would like to rotate the event among cities that do not ever host the Super Bowl.
FOX 11 asked Murphy if 15 to 20 years is a realistic timeline for the possibility of the NFL Draft ever returning.
“Yeah, I think so,” said Murphy. “That is probably the range 15 to 20 years. That would be the end of Ed Policy’s tenure, so he can have a similar situation.”
FOX 11’s full interview with Murphy will go live on the WLUK-TV FOX 11 YouTube channel on Sunday.
