New Orleans Saints quarterback Tyler Shough does not win Offensive Rookie of the Year

All right, now it’s time for our fleet supply express delivery segment as we do each and every week, we’re delivering James Hurst for insight and analysis on the black and gold. James, let’s start with the two veterans, the legends, Demario and Cam. Are they? Are they going to be back? Should they be back? I think it’s *** no-brainer. What do you think? Yeah, I think both of them played at *** high level. I think particularly Cam, really, uh, he improved *** lot from last season, which was really great to see. Both of those guys have been cornerstones on the defense, on the team, in the community, in the locker room. They’ve done everything right. So, uh, from an organization standpoint, you wanna give them the benefit of the doubt, you want to make that work. If it can. Now, from Cam and DeMario’s point of view, as I’m sure they already know, um, there’s *** lot of things to consider. There’s, uh, what kind of contract are you gonna get, what is your role look like on the team, how does that change, um, potentially testing free agency. What does that look like? What contract can you get on the, on the market, um, moving your family, is it worth it? So there’s so many variables that are going on. I’d love to see the Saints bring him back. I think they both were, were very, very valuable pieces to this defense that played extremely well for most of the season, particularly when the secondary figured things out back there. So, if you keep those guys on the team in the locker room, they’re gonna have *** positive impact. I think, really, I mean, the potential for the Saints next season with two leaders like that on your team, um, it, it It seems like some great things could happen. James, we’ve talked about it multiple times this year. The most important thing the Saints had to do this entire season was figure out who their quarterback was, if he was on their team, and if not, if they needed to draft one. Do you feel without *** doubt, without *** question that Tyler Shuck is the guy of the future for the Saints, and he’s someone that the team can build around not just next year or the year after, but can be *** franchise quarterback for the black and gold. Absolutely. I, I think without *** doubt, he’s your quarterback next season. I think in all likelihood, several years, uh, maybe into *** second contract, at least we can hope that, but he’s your guy, he’s the guy you wanna build around. I think, look, the season didn’t go as fans would want, playoffs, make *** push for the Super Bowl. However, finding the quarterback is one of the biggest problems every single team can have, and the Saints seem to have found an answer in Chuck. And so I’m excited to see what they do with them moving forward, the pieces they add, because they need to add. *** handful of big pieces, uh, to make this thing work, but you got your guy at quarterback, he’s, he’s got *** winning instinct at the end of football games, which is exactly what you want, so I’m excited. He’s the guy moving forward, now let’s see who else can we add to this team. James, we’re gonna do *** longer segment with you during the week, but quickly before we wrap it up here, biggest need for the black and gold as they enter 2026. Yeah, I’ve got 4, and it’s pretty simple. It’s on the very outside of the field and the very inside of the field. It’s wide receiver, cornerback, and interior offensive and defensive line. Those are your 4 biggest needs. We’re gonna see how that shapes up with *** great draft position and the prospects on the board. Let me add *** 5th running back. Running backs possible. Look, I think Kamara, if you add some pieces, I think we’re gonna see flashes of what Kamara once was. I think Neil did *** great job this year. He took *** lot of steps forward, but with Chuck running the show, the way he’s able to throw the ball down the field, that’s gonna open up some serious running lanes, and I think we’re gonna see that running back position produce *** lot better with Chuck under center. I love that you wanted 1 and y’all collectively just came up with 5, by the way. All right, thanks, James, we’ll see you later this week. Appreciate your insight as always. Thank you.
