When the Houston Texans kickoff in the Super Bowl, it’ll mark the first time in franchise history they’ve been.

Better yet, whenever the Texans face off against an opponent on the big stage in the “big game,” it’ll mark the first time that the city of Houston has seen a team in the Super Bowl. The Tennessee Titans might have featured a slew of Houston Oilers, but the move to Nashville was complete when they faced off against the then-St. Louis Rams in Super Bowl XXXIV.

The Texans are one of four teams to never play in the big game, joining AFC South rival Jacksonville, along with the Detroit Lions and the Cleveland Browns. They are one of 12 teams to never win the big game, with the most appearances without a win going to the Minnesota Vikings and Buffalo Bills.

The New England Patriots, looking to surpass the Pittsburgh Steelers for the most titles in league history, have reached the Super Bowl the most times at 11. The Denver Broncos have reached eight Super Bowls, along with the Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys.

Here’s a look at every team by Super Bowl appeaances, along with their overall record ahead of Sunday’s performance at Levi Stadium:
