The Cowboys finished their 2025 season with a 7-9-1 record after losing to the New York Giants. The Cowboys’ loss, combined with an Atlanta win, improved their position in the 2026 NFL Draft to at least No. 12.Dallas also owns the Green Bay Packers’ first-round pick from the Micah trade, and they’ll wait for how the playoffs work out to determine their slot.

The Dallas Cowboys‘ 2025 season has been over, and now all 32 NFL teams are in the same boat. A defensive slugfest resulted in the Seattle Seahawks defeating the New England Patriots, 29-13, to earn the Lombardi trophy from Super Bowl LX, and now every team is ready to look forward to the 2026 campaign.

The final game also served as the final piece of the draft order puzzle, with the competitors already locked into the 31st and 32nd slots in the first round, and the corresponding pick in each of the subsequent rounds. One method of predicting how much impact a draft class will have for a team is by looking at the value points they have entering draft weekend.

Using the Jimmy Johnson trade chart, all 32 picks in each round, plus the comp picks following the third through seventh rounds, are given a value. In a perfect world, the teams with the highest point totals should have the best draft class, but that’s rarely the case. Still, it’s better to have more total pick value than less.

Where will the Cowboys pick?

The Cowboys have known the position of their draft picks since Green Bay was eliminated from the playoffs on wild-card weekend. Dallas’ 7-9-1 record earned them the 12th pick in every round, and by virtue of their August trade that sent Micah Parsons north, they have the No. 20 pick as well.
