Nobody within the Philadelphia Eagles’ organization will question Jalen Hurts’ motivation to get back on the Super Bowl stage in 2026.
They’ve been here before. A few years back, Hurts led the Eagles to the Super Bowl and played nearly a perfect game. It didn’t matter in the end, as the Eagles lost to the Kansas City Chiefs.
In the following year, the Eagles made it to the playoffs and fell out in the first round. But their window wasn’t closed. They bounced back with a deep playoff run, which concluded with a Super Bowl victory over the Chiefs. Hurts was crowned the game’s MVP.
A pattern continued. The Eagles had a near collapse in 2025 after a solid start. When they got to the Wild Card stage, the Eagles didn’t have anything left in the tank. In a game where they were favored to win, the San Francisco 49ers stunned the Eagles in South Philly.
Hurts isn’t walking around with a sour reaction. Again, they’ve been here before. According to the AP’s Rob Maaddi, Hurts has had a different vibe lately. One that says he’s confident that all will be well when the next season fires up.

“This was just one interaction with Jalen Hurts but I noticed he had a different vibe this week,” Maaddi said on X. “Teammates noticed it, too. A couple guys told me they haven’t seen him smiling and having fun like he did throughout the Pro Bowl Games. He told me he’s in a good place mentally.”
Hurts had what many would consider a down year. The Eagles’ offense as a whole looked out of sorts more often than not. Their struggles in 2025 called for Kevin Patullo’s job.
Next season, Hurts and the Eagles’ offense will get a fresh start, as the unit will feature multiple key changes, including the addition of a new offensive coordinator.
It’s difficult to predict where Sean Mannion can direct the Eagles’ offense, but Hurts’ high spirits is a sign that he’s optimistic about what’s to come. There’s a lot of pressure weighing on the three-time Pro Bowler to lead the Eagles to bounce back. That doesn’t seem to be fazing him so far.
