As the Las Vegas Raiders get ready for the NFL offseason, there are big questions surrounding the future of star pass rusher Maxx Crosby. Since Las Vegas was eliminated from playoff contention, trade rumors around the star pass rusher have emerged in the NFL.

Some believe that Crosby will indeed be traded this offseason, and recent reporting seems to indicate that a deal could be coming down the line. Crosby seems to want to play for a contending team, and while he has remained loyal to Las Vegas over the years, with them not being close to winning, the veteran star may ask out.

Maxx Crosby Done With the Raiders?

Now, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Crosby may be completely done with the Raiders franchise. Florio is reporting that Crosby told Raiders minority owner Tom Brady that he won’t play for the team again.

“He told Tom Brady he will never play for the Raiders again,” the unnamed G.M. said. “That’s a fact. He told them he’ll retire before he ever plays for them again. But I’m not sure they’re actually going to trade him. Myles Garrett said the same thing last year, and we know how that ended up.”

Buffalo Bills Trade For Maxx Crosby

One team that could be very aggressive in going after Crosby this offseason, assuming he is actually moved, is the Buffalo Bills. Buffalo is coming off yet another frustrating end to their season, and the team has undergone some big changes.

Veteran head coach Sean McDermott is out, and former offensive coordinator Joe Brady was named to be his replacement. With Joe Brady now in charge, it could see Buffalo take a different approach to team-building, and adding a player like Crosby to the defense could be exactly what this team has been missing.

Why Bills Trade For Maxx Crosby

For the Bills, if they could add a talent like Crosby, he could completely take this team over the top. Far too often, Buffalo has relied upon the offense to do everything, leaving the defense to just make plays when needed.

Bills general manager Brandon Beane has tried to find answers to the defensive problems, but the unit hasn’t quite gotten them where it needs to go. However, Crosby is a true game-changing presence for a defensive unit and could be the missing ingredient.

Crosby has posted at least 10 sacks in three of his last four seasons, including this past year, despite Las Vegas’s overall defense being atrocious. For 2025, Crosby registered 10 sacks and 28 tackles for loss over 15 games played.

The pure production from Crosby, even what doesn’t get shown in box scores, can’t be understated, and this could be a move worth it for Buffalo. While it may cost them a lot in a trade, Crosby is arguably one of the better pass rushers in the game today, and there is a great deal of urgency for the Bills to win right now.

Maxx Crosby Contract

Trading for Crosby would be financially costly for the Bills, and this team has tried to walk a tightrope since paying star quarterback Josh Allen. But Crosby could be seen as underpaid for his overall value, and he does have team-friendly cap hits over the next couple of seasons.

Crosby is scheduled to make below $30 million in 2027, 2028, and 2029, which could give Buffalo some needed flexibility. Overall, this is a deal that Beane should be looking into, and if the trade value is at a comfortable level, the Bills should pull the trigger.
