The Dolphins shared a clear message after the Super Bowl

Miami Dolphins fans got the result they were hoping for in Super Bowl LX, as their division rival, the New England Patriots, lost handily to the Seattle Seahawks. The AFC East has not had a Super Bowl winner since the 2019 season, when the Patriots beat the Los Angeles Rams in a defensive struggle.

Following that game, the Dolphins hired Brian Flores as their head coach. Flores, the Patriots’ linebackers coach and defensive playcaller, shut down Sean McVay’s potent offense. Now, in 2026, the Dolphins will once again turn to a defensive playcaller in the hopes of turning the franchise around.

Miami Dolphins Send a Message

Following the Super Bowl, the Miami Dolphins’ official accounts on social media posted a video with the caption, “Already started.” The promotional video featured new head coach Jeff Hafley speaking to Dolphins fans, saying they “deserve a winner.” It also featured new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan saying the team is, “chasing championships.” The video included a graphic that said, “Next Season” and “Already Started,” followed by a countdown clock until the new season begins.

Additionally, the Dolphins re-posted on X and posted on their Instagram story the NFL’s “Belief is a Superpower” message. Belief is something that seems to be running thin among Dolphins fans, as they will hope 2026 is the year the team’s playoff win drought comes to an end.

Regarding his relationship with Dolphins fans, head coach Jeff Hafley said, “I’m going to do everything in my power to earn their trust… I want to build a trust that’s going to last, just like a strong relationship.” In his introductory press conference, Hafley had previously said, “To the fans – this is a storied organization, one of the best in all sports and you deserve a winner. You guys deserve a winner, and I am going to do everything in my power to bring you guys that. I am so proud to be here and I cannot wait to get started. Thank you.”

Jeff Hafley’s Philosophy

Under Mike McDaniel, the Miami Dolphins possessed an explosive offense, particularly in his first two seasons. However, the team was criticized for their lack of toughness and inability to beat teams in poor weather conditions.

Hafley has made a point of emphasis on changing the narrative about the team’s toughness. He said, “The final thing that I’m going to talk to them about every single day is toughness. That’s physically, that’s mentally, that’s everything that we do. It’s a toughness that thrives on competition. It’s a toughness that reflects the people and the spirit of the city of Miami, and that’s what I’m most excited about.”

In 2025, the Dolphins displayed their most physical brand of football as they evolved from a passing offense to a run-first team. Miami was led by its running back De’Von Achane, who made his first Pro Bowl. With the offense being built around Achane’s running ability, Miami won six of their final nine games. Hafley will hope that new offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik is able to maintain some of that success.
