The Cincinnati Bengals have some really obvious needs entering training camp.
Whether the Bengals actually use their cap space in the wake of restructuring contracts for several players is a different discussion. But the list of needs feels rather obvious.
Over at Bleacher Report, Alex Ballentine listed the interior offensive line and edge rusher as the top two needs in Cincinnati.
It’s spot-on, too. A year removed from getting benched, Volson is one of the guys who just had his contract changed. They brought on Lucas Patrick, re-signed Cody Ford and drafted Dylan Fairchild to get a deep competition going at both guard spots.

And when it comes to edge rushers, obviously, there’s the big standoff with Trey Hendrickson. There’s also, somehow, the contract standoff with first-round pick Shemar Stewart. Coaches hope that the re-signed Joseph Ossai can remain on an upswing and first-round product Myles Murphy can start to contribute.
It would make sense for the Bengals to attack these needs in free agency between now and training camp. But even so, they’d remain near the top of the list until answers actually start to emerge.
