The Arizona Cardinals could make multiple moves at quarterback this offseason. They reportedly are seeking to trade Kyler Murray. Some think that Jacoby Brissett could be traded, too.
If both were to happen, they would need players to replace them.
One quarterback that could make sense is Los Angeles Rams backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.
ESPN’s Ben Solak thinks that Garoppolo and the Cardinals might be a fit that happens.
With new head coach Mike LaFleur stepping in with the Sean McVay system, I would not be surprised to see Rams free agent Jimmy Garoppolo also make his way to Arizona as a potential spot starter instead of Brissett.

Garoppolo will be a free agent in March. It makes a lot of sense for the Cardinals to add him. It is common for coaches to bring in players already familiar with the offensive system to provide stability. Having been with the Rams for the last two seasons, he would know LaFleur well, and LaFleur would know him well.
LaFleur probably would like to have a quarterback room that is his own.
It feels like the organization wants to move on from Kyler Murray. LaFleur likely doesn’t believe he can win with Brissett, as Brissett has never proven to be a winner, having gone 1-11 as a starter last season, 2-15 over the last two seasons and 20-45 in his career.
Garoppolo is a veteran. He has started a lot of games and has won a lot of football games.
He is a player to watch as free agency approaches next month.
