The Green Bay Packers will lose Rich Bisaccia’s top assistant coach on special teams. According to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team and Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, the Cleveland Browns will hire Packers assistant special teams coach Byron Storer as the team’s new special teams coach.

Storer, who has worked with Bisaccia at several NFL stops, arrived in Green Bay with Bisaccia ahead of the 2022 season. In Cleveland, Storer will replace Bubba Ventrone on Todd Monken’s new staff with the Browns. This will be Storer’s first opportunity to be a special teams coordinator at the NFL level.

The Packers, who are expected to retain Bisaccia as special teams coordinator, will need to replace Storer on staff for 2026.

According to PFF, the Browns ranked second in special teams grade despite giving up several return touchdowns in 2025. The Packers ranked 19th. In Cleveland, Storer will coach former Packers punter Corey Bojorquez, and young kicker Andre Szmyt, who kicked a game-winning field goal against the Packers in Week 3.

Storer has been a trusted assistant under Bisaccia, serving as a top assistant for four seasons in Las Vegas (2018-21) and four seasons in Green Bay (2022-25). He also worked with Bisaccia in Tampa Bay and San Diego.
