On Wednesday, the Green Bay Packers hired former Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Luke Getsy to become their quarterbacks coach.

It was just a little twist in a rivalry that heated up in 2025 between the two NFC North teams.
The Bears got the better of the Packers, winning the final two matchups of the season, including a 31-27 victory in the wild-card round. But the Bears lost a key contributor in their final offensive drive that will complicate their offseason plans.
Left tackle Ozzy Trapilo suffered an injury that could keep him out at the start of the season. Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated thinks the Bears could sign Packers offensive tackle Rasheed Walker in free agency to replace Trapilo.
“It’s pretty complicated,” Breer wrote. “Do you re-sign Braxton Jones? Do you make a run at someone like Rasheed Walker in free agency? The unfortunate thing is that Ozzy Trapilo should be the easy answer to the question.
“The 2025 rookie performed well enough that he could at least have been penciled in as the placeholder, and maybe even the long-term answer at left tackle, before rupturing his patellar tendon… That injury is a tough one, and, since he was hurt in January, it’d be tough to count on getting a lot from Trapilo in his second season.”

Breer also thinks the Bears could draft a left tackle with the No. 25 pick.
Walker was selected by the Packers in the seventh round of the 2022 draft. He’s appeared in 52 games and started 48. He beat out 2024 first-round pick Jordan Morgan to earn the starting left tackle job last season.
One other thing about signing Walker, he’d have some familiarity with star defensive end Micah Parsons.
