The best deep-ball passer in the NFL, at least statistically and perhaps surprisingly, belongs to the Carolina Panthers.
Pro Football Focus highlighted quarterback Bryce Young’s arm in a Twitter/X post on Wednesday evening. And according to their findings, no one in the league is as efficient when it comes to throws of 20 yards or longer.
Young’s 99.7 passing grade on deep throws put him right above this past season’s two leading Most Valuable Player candidates, Matthew Stafford and Drake Maye. Stafford ranked second at 98.7 and Maye third at 97.4.

His big time throw rate of 38.9 percent was easily the best amongst all quarterbacks with at least 12 games played. He was followed by Tua Tagovailoa (33.3), Sam Darnold (32.4) and Stafford (31.9).
Not bad for a little guy, huh?
Young also finished with the best conventional numbers of his pro tenure in 2025. Young threw for career-highs in completion percentage (63.6), yards (3,011), touchdowns (23) and passer rating (87.8).
