The Washington Commanders delivered a highly successful, fun-filled community activation in Abu Dhabi through the Kullna Commanders Youth Football Camp, engaging 200 young participants and their families in an immersive flag football experience.

Hosted at the Abu Dhabi Cricket & Sports Hub on January 31, the event blended elite-level coaching with vibrant, festival-style activations, creating an inclusive environment that celebrated sport, movement and togetherness while reinforcing the Commanders’ commitment to youth development and grassroots engagement in the UAE.

With a perfect blend of high-energy athletics and community engagement, the camp welcomed 200 young participants representing 35 nationalities and 51 different schools. The diversity on the field mirrored the inclusive spirit of the UAE, proving that the love for the game knows no borders.

The impact of the event was best captured by the feedback from the parents and families in attendance.

The camp featured 10 interactive on-field drills designed to sharpen coordination and teamwork. Leading the charge were 15 expert coaches, trained by the NFL Flag Football Director and legendary Coach Tom LaNeve – the primary author of the official NFL Flag Football rule book.

Off the field, the atmosphere came alive with festive energy as families were treated to an American tailgating experience. The activation zones were buzzing with activity, featuring:

A football painting station where kids could customize their own gear.
A high-energy smoothie-making station for healthy refreshment.
An interactive photo booth to capture memories of the day.
The ever-popular BBQ and drinks station, fueling over 250 supporters who cheered from the sidelines.
