For the last 13 years, the offensive line coach for the Philadelphia Eagles had been Jeff Stoutland. Stoutland was widely regarded as the best in the league at his role, as the Eagles have often had one of, if not the best, offensive lines in the NFL. He was also the coach who helped innovate the “Tush Push.” In each of his seasons with the Eagles, at least one lineman had made the Pro Bowl.

One week ago, he announced he would not be returning to Philadelphia, which left fans and players saddened. However, it did not take long for the Eagles to find his replacement, as they have hired former Minnesota Vikings offensive line coach Chris Kuper.

Kuper had been with the Vikings for four seasons before the franchise quietly parted ways with him last month.

Kuper will have massive shoes to fill, but he is a fine coach in his own right. He helped develop Christian Darrisaw into one of the best left tackles in the league and got rookie Donovan Jackson off to a very bright start to his NFL career. The Eagles landed a good one in Kuper.
