The Dolphins hired Kevin Patullo on Wednesday and the former Eagles offensive coordinator will now serve as the passing game coordinator under the new offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik.

Patullo was relieved of his duties as offensive coordinator by head coach Nick Sirianni after an inconsistent year by the offense, but Sirianni hoped to keep Patullo on the staff in a different role.

There has been a mass exodus from Philadelphia, as the wheels appear to be falling off after a relative down year during this stretch of extended success.

Patullo was hired by Sirianni right when he took the head coaching job in 2021, and is the fifth coach to jump ship this offseason.

The Eagles also lost important offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland after 13 seasons, during which he helped develop one of the league’s best offensive lines.

Tight ends coach Jason Michael, defensive backs coach Christian Parker and defensive assistant Tyler Yelk have also all exited.

For the Dolphins, Patullo will work alongside Slowik to resurrect their aerial game after a terrible season by Tua Tagovailoa, who concluded the season by saying it “would be dope” to get a change of scenery.

Tagovailoa was benched for the final three games in favor of former Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers.

The NFL Network has previously reported that it was “unlikely” that Tagovailoa would play again for the Dolphins, though a trade would be extremely tricky given his massive contract.

Tagovailoa has a massive cap hit of $56 million in 2026, after which there’s an out but from the remaining three years and 152 million that remain.

Though there is a massive dead cap number, should any acquiring team look to move off him after this season.

Tagovailoa signed a massive four-year, $212.4 million deal ahead of the 2024 season.
