The Cleveland Browns’ multi-billion stadium project in Brook Park is set to break ground on March 2. New renderings include a reimagined Dawg Pound.
CLEVELAND — With groundbreaking for the new Cleveland Browns enclosed stadium in Brook Park set to take place early next month, new renderings of what the facility will look like have been released.
The new 67,500-seat Huntington Bank Field, designed by HKS Architecture, will feature a “Super Theater” concept capable of hosting NFL games, NCAA Final Fours, international soccer matches and concerts for up to 75,000 attendees.Â
The Browns plan to leave downtown Cleveland for Brook Park beginning with the 2029 NFL season. The site in Brook Park includes a $2.4 billion stadium and a surrounding $1 billion mixed-use development. The Haslam Sports Group is planning to privately finance the entertainment district and roughly half of the stadium, with the remainder coming from the state of Ohio and other tax revenues generated by the city of Brook Park.
On Thursday, HKS shared 10 new renderings with 3News.

GROUNDBREAKING COMING
So when will construction begin?Â
Activity at the stadium site officially began last October with enabling work that includes site preparation, grading and utility installation.Â
Last month, the city of Brook Park granted the Browns a mass excavation permit. Mayor Edward Orcutt told 3News’ Danielle Wiggins that the approval of the permit means “we’re digging the hole.” He said the project is on schedule and they’re continuing to move forward.
When the Browns introduced new head coach Todd Monken on Feb. 3, team owner Jimmy Haslam told reporters that March 2 will be the target date for groundbreaking.
“Four weeks from yesterday (Feb. 2), we’re going to start the largest construction job in Cuyahoga County history,” he stated.
The Brook Park project is expected to generate more than 6,000 construction jobs and thousands of additional full-time positions across the stadium and adjacent mixed-use development.
