DeMeco Ryans and the Houston Texans are getting new digs, and they are drawing attention amid the historic decision.

The 2025 season did not end how the Texans hoped, but they remain one of the more talented rosters in the league. Their latest decision aims to match the team’s surroundings with its play, particularly on defense.

They announced a landmark decision on Thursday.

Ryans and the Texans got the good news that they are getting new headquarters directly from the team and ownership on Thursday, less than one month before the official start of the offseason. Texans chairman and CEO Cal McNair called it a “historic day” for the organization.

“The Houston Texans, Harris County, and Howard Hughes® today announced plans for Toro District™, a transformative new sports and entertainment destination in Bridgeland®, located in Northwest Harris County,” the team’s official statement read. “The 83-acre project includes a 22-acre, state-of-the-art global headquarters and training complex for the Texans and represents a bold new model for collaboration between professional sports, public leadership, and long-term community development.”

The Texans also released a video of McNair and his wife, Hannah McNair, the latter of whom noted that this was the “biggest move” in the franchise’s history.

Cal McNair noted the “competitive advantage” the move will give Ryans and the Texans.

“Toro District will include a dynamic mix of best-in-class retail, restaurant, hotel, entertainment, commercial, and medical space within Bridgeland Central®, the community’s emerging urban core,” the release continued.

“This landmark public-private partnership reflects the Texans’ commitment to redefining and elevating engagement with the community.”

There are some questions, though.

The move will take the team’s headquarters from Houston to roughly 37 minutes northwest, which threatens to extend the commute for many fans for events like open training camp, but brings others closer to those same happenings.

There remains no firm timeline for this project. It is certainly several years from completion, giving fans and the team time to plan.

The team will still be in NRG Stadium for games, though, and plans to remain in Harris County.

Texans Next Up for New LookDeMeco Ryans, Houston Texans

The new headquarters are just one of the big changes in the works for Ryans and the Texans. Another is coming next season.

That is a new set of uniforms.

The NFL began its “rivalries” series last season. They gave a special set of uniforms made to be worn in divisional games to teams in the AFC East and the NFC West. Next season, the AFC South–i.e., the Texans–and the NFC North get theirs.

Official reveals are not expected until August, but there have been some preliminary fan concepts floating around on social media.

The Texans introduced their current set of uniforms in 2024.

This set will be even more limited in use than their “battle red” look of this past season. Still, Ryans and the Texans are sure to draw plenty of attention when their “rivalry” unis drop. It will happen again when they debut them on the field next season.
