Indianapolis Colts’ quarterback Daniel Jones made a big jump in NFL.com’s quarterback rankings following the 2025 NFL season.
Nick Shook recently ranked all 63 quarterbacks who made a start last season. Based on their play in the regular season and playoffs, he then listed those quarterbacks from 1 to 63.
Rounding out Tier 2 was Jones, who came in at No. 12 overall in these rankings.
A year ago, Jones was No. 37 on Shook’s list.
“The Colts were one of the NFL’s best because of Jones, but once injury struck, he wasn’t the same,” Shook wrote. “He’s now traveling a long road back to the field, and hopefully the soon-to-be free agent will rediscover what made him and the Colts special in that beautiful stretch in the 2025 season.”

Through 10 games, the Colts were 8-2 and boasted one of the most productive offenses in football.
During that stretch, Jones ranked fourth in completion rate, fourth in passing yards, and fourth in yards per attempt while throwing 13 touchdowns to three interceptions.
In the following two games, Jones’ production dipped as he dealt with a lower leg injury. Then, in Week 14 against Jacksonville, he suffered the season-ending Achilles injury.
Jones is set to be a free agent this offseason, but both he and the team have made it quite clear that they would like to work out a new deal.
Although Jones is working through a major injury, GM Chris Ballard has already stated that he is “confident” in his ability to recover from the Achilles injury and bounce back.
Internally, the Colts believe that the success Jones and the team had through the first half of the 2025 season can be replicated.
