The New York Giants and Green Bay Packers could both be in the market for offensive line help this offseason.
The Giants saw improvement upfront in 2025, which was a breath of fresh air for a team that has routinely had one of the worst offensive lines in the sport in recent years.
However, the Giants have two starters in Jermaine Eluemunor and Greg Van Roten set to hit free agency, so they could need as many as two replacements upfront.
The Packers also have two notable offensive linemen who are pending free agents in left tackle Rasheed Walker and center Sean Rhyan.
We’d expect Green Bay to go in-house for a Walker replacement, but the Packers could opt to search for a new center in free agency if they deploy Elgton Jenkins instead of re-signing Walker.
In an article picking potential suitors for some of the top free agents this offseason, Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox named the Packers and Giants as two possible landing spots for Baltimore Ravens center Tyler Linderbaum, who Knox believes will command a four-year, $76 million deal.
Linderbaum has started all 17 games in three of his four seasons and 66 of a possible 68 overall. This past year, he played 99 percent of the offensive snaps.
Pro Football Focus ranked Linderbaum fifth overall among all centers this past season, and he’s now been named to the Pro Bowl in three straight campaigns.
Potential Suitors:Â Green Bay Packers, New York Giants
We would put the Ravens at the top of the list of the most likely landing spots for the three-time Pro Bowler, but if Linderbaum does hit the open market, that will drive up his price and could leave the Ravens out in the cold.
Linderbaum would be a massive upgrade over Rhyan, both in pass protection and run-blocking, and he would allow the Packers to shift Jenkins to a tackle spot to make up for the loss of Walker.
The Giants have a starting center in John Michael Schmitz, but he hasn’t lived up to expectations and is in the final year of his contract.
If New York signs Linderbaum, he would obviously start at center and the Giants can try and shift JMS to guard or simply trade him.
Because of his connection to head coach John Harbaugh, and with the Packers not having a dire need at center, we would consider the Giants as the more likely landing spot for the three-time Pro Bowler.
