The 2025 season was a notable one for the Kansas City Chiefs, but not for the right reasons. For only the second time in Andy Reid’s tenure in Kansas City, the Chiefs missed the playoffs. And for the first time in his Chiefs coaching career, the team finished with a losing record.
It wasn’t hard to miss people pointing the blame squarely at Reid for the Chiefs’ failures during the season. It’s something that absolutely infuriated former NFL quarterback Terry Bradshaw, who talked about people dissing Reid while appearing on Morning Mayhem on 103.7 The Buzz in Little Rock, Arkansas.
“I was reading this morning about Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs and ‘has he lost it.’ And I’m like, are you kidding me? He went to five Super Bowls in six years and they’re going, ‘Has he lost it?’ Lost what? I’ll tell you what he lost, he lost a lot of players to injuries. Critics are just idiots. Idiots, man. They have no idea what they’re talking about.”
The quarterback turned broadcaster isn’t here for any of the Andy Reid criticism.
The fans blaming Reid for the Chiefs’ struggles in 2025 likely didn’t follow the team closely or are just reaching for things to complain about and hey — This fanbase has been spoiled and hasn’t been used to losing over the past decade so it figures they wouldn’t handle it well. As Bradshaw pointed out in his rant, the Chiefs were marred with injuries, including to star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who missed the final three games of the season.
Bradshaw nailed everything during the appearance, as Reid has been a game-changer for the Chiefs franchise. He’s helped the team get to five Super Bowls and win three Super Bowl trophies and now people want to say he’s the reason the team is bad? Crazy.
For the fans who might have that opinion, look around the league and ask yourselves which head coaches have a better track record than Andy Reid? Chances are, you’re not going to be able to come up with another name.
Bradshaw is right here. Anyone pointing the finger at Reid and saying he’s “lost it” are the ones who have “lost it”.
