It appears new Las Vegas Raiders coach Klint Kubiak is beginning one of his coordinator searches in-house.

The team is reportedly interviewing defensive line coach Rob Leonard for its defensive coordinator position.

Leonard was the team’s run game coordinator/defensive line coach last season. This would be his fourth season with the team.

He has 16 years of coaching experience, including 13 in the NFL. In 2024, Leonard coached a defensive line that recorded 20 passes defensed, the second most in the NFL among defensive line units.

The Raiders also logged 38 total sacks. Star edge rusher Maxx Crosby has talked often about his fondness for Leonard.

Also, Kubiak will hire former San Diego Chargers coach Mike McCoy as an assistant head coach.

McCoy spent four years leading the Chargers and was Tennessee’s interim coach at the end of last season, when the Titans went 2-9 under him.

He has developed several quarterbacks during his career and could do the same with the Raiders should they make Fernando Mendoza of Indiana the No. 1 pick in the draft.

McCoy, 53, has also served as offensive coordinator for the Broncos and Cardinals and was a quarterbacks coach with the Jaguars.

As for offensive coordinator, the Raiders reportedly have begun the process and are interviewing Seahawks wide receivers coach Frisman Jackson.

He previously coached wide receivers with the Titans, Panthers and Steelers.

His playing career included time with the Browns and Jets.
