A familiar face to Indianapolis and the racing world will wave the green flag at the 109th Indy 500 on May 25.

Casey Foyt, the daughter of late Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay and the wife of A.J. Foyt IV, was tapped for the honor, Indianapolis Motor Speedway announced May 23.

Irsay-Foyt will wave the green flag after her father died at 65 on May 22. Her sister, Carlie Irsay-Gordon, is expected to assume control of the Colts’ operations. Irsay-Gordon is expected to share ownership of the team with Foyt and another sister, Kalen Jackson, who have long held their own roles within the organization and were formally given the titles of vice chair/owners in 2012.
