The Saskatchewan Roughriders added some depth in the backfield on Friday in a player with NFL experience.

The team announced the signing of Super Bowl-winning running back Darrell Henderson Jr.

Henderson, 28, has not played since the 2023 season. He made 54 appearances for the Los Angeles Rams across five seasons after being taken with the 70th overall selection of the 2019 NFL Draft out of Memphis, where he was the Tigers’ second-all-time leading rusher with 3,082.

For his career, Henderson has rushed for 1,854 yards on 442 carries with 15 touchdowns. He added another 574 yards receiving on 76 catches with four majors.

The Bateville, MS native was a member of the Rams team that won Super Bowl LVI over the Cincinnati Bengals in 2022. In the 23-20 victory, Henderson hauled in three passes for 43 yards.
