The Cleveland Browns are in desperate need of playmakers for Todd Monken’s new offense. At his introductory press conference the incoming head coach stated his simple goal, “I want to score anyway possible. It’s about scoring points.”

GM Andrew Berry needs to deliver on a stud wide receiver at April’s NFL Draft…but who? Which talented college star is worthy of Cleveland’s pick at No. 6 or 24?

CBS NFL Insider Ryan Wilson recently joined 92.3 The Fan to cut through the noise and rank the elite pass-catchers who should be at the top of Berry’s wishlist.

While the “Buckeye to Browns” pipeline is the talk of the town, Wilson’s rankings prove this class is loaded with diverse talent. Whether Cleveland swings for the fences at sixth overall or finds a steal later in the first round, these are the five names to watch, plus my own sleeper option at the end.

1. Carnell Tate, Ohio State (6’3″, 195-lbs)

A polished, local favorite with elite route-running.

Pro-ready footwork and a massive catch radius that makes life easy for a quarterback.

2. Makai Lemon, USC (5’11″, 195-lbs)

Pure electricity in the open field with Malik Nabers comparisons.

Incredible YAC (yards after catch) ability and the speed to take any slant to the house.

3. Jordyn Tyson, Arizona State (6’2″, 200-lbs)

A vertical threat who wins the 50/50 balls.

Exceptional ball tracking and the strength to overpower aggressive cornerbacks. Injuries throughout his college career raise concerns.

4. Denzel Boston, Washington (6’4″, 209-lbs)

A “red zone nightmare” with imposing size.

Rare height-weight-speed combination that creates immediate mismatches in the end zone.

5. KC Concepcion, Texas A&M (5’11”, 190-lbs)

An offensive Swiss Army knife with the bonus of being an electric punt returner (two return TDs in 2025)

Versatility to play in the slot or the backfield, keeping defensive coordinators guessing.

SLEEPER:

Malachi Fields, Notre Dame (6’4″, 223-lbs)

If the Browns want to focus on other positions in the first round or double up at receiver, Malachi Fields should be available at No. 39 in round two. His stock rose at the Senior Bowl, giving this big bodied playmaker the chance to be a second round steal a la DK Metcalf.

Fields brings reliable hands and a physical style of play that would make a tremendous outside pairing opposite Jerry Jeudy.
