FORMER STEELERS QB INTERVIEW BLOCKED

Bruce Gradkowski is a former NFL quarterback who played for the Steelers from 2013-16. While he was a backup, he was a reliable veteran option behind Ben Roethlisberger, who often dealt with injuries. However, Gradkowski got released in the middle of the 2016 season, and that was the end of his NFL career. Gradkowski returned to the NFL last year, although not as a player.

He began his NFL coaching career as an offensive assistant for the Detroit Lions. It looks like the Lions value Gradkowski highly, too. Insider Jordan Schultz reported on Twitter that the Miami Dolphins requested to interview Gradkowski for their quarterbacks coach opening, but the Lions blocked that request. The Lions must have a lot of faith in the former quarterback’s potential as a coach.

The Steelers shared on Twitter that tickets are now on sale to see the documentary at Kamin Science Center. It’s narrated by former NFL punter and Pittsburgh-native Pat McAfee. Several Steelers legends will appear in the documentary, too.

STEELERS BLACK HISTORY MONTH

February is Black History Month, and the Steelers have plenty members of their franchise to celebrate. They aren’t the only professional sports team in Pittsburgh that are using this month to acknowledge their history, though.

Steelers Community Relations stated on Twitter that the Steelers and the Pittsburgh Pirates partnered with a local school to host a living museum that looked at several important Black figures in each team’s history. Students dressed up and talked about how certain people impacted the sport and Pittsburgh. It’s a good way to involve the community and respect history.
