On Friday, New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh reflected on the unexpected public endorsement he received from President Donald Trump shortly after leaving the Baltimore Ravens.

Harbaugh, who was fired by the Ravens in January following an 8-9 season that ended with a playoff miss—concluding his 18-year tenure with 193 wins and a Super Bowl title—found himself at the center of attention when Trump posted on Truth Social, urging the Giants to hire him.

Trump described Harbaugh as a “winner” capable of restoring championship success to the franchise and encouraged him directly to “TAKE THE JOB!!!”

On FOX and Friends with Brian Kilmeade, Harbaugh shared his reaction to the surprise message.

“It did surprise me,” he said. “All of a sudden I started getting bing bing bing. My phone starts going off and there it is. It’s like man, okay, I guess that’s where he’s the president, you know. I guess that’s what we’re going to do.”

Harbaugh also noted his family’s positive response, stating his parents “were fired up about it.”

“We loved it. We love meeting President Trump. We loved all of his group. It was awesome,” Harbaugh said.

The endorsement came amid reported mutual interest between Harbaugh and the Giants, who ultimately hired him to lead the team. Harbaugh has since expressed appreciation for the support while focusing on his new role.
