The Philadelphia Eagles’ wide receiver room is once again under the spotlight this offseason, and one new projection has added an unexpected twist to the conversation.

FOX Sports’ Greg Auman recently ranked the top 100 pending free agents and paired each with a predicted landing spot.

One name that stood out was Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs, whom Auman slotted to the Eagles.

“No. 23. Romeo Doubs, WR, Packers,” Auman wrote.

“Doubs, 25, has had steady mid-level production in Green Bay, averaging 50 catches, 600 yards and five touchdowns a year in his four seasons there. He stepped up in the playoff loss with eight catches for 124 yards and a score.”

Auman added that “finding value in a No. 2 receiver can be tough,” projecting Doubs to land “in the $12-15 million range.”

His prediction on Doubs was simple: “Signs with Eagles.”

That projection immediately adds another layer to the conversation in Philadelphia, especially with A.J. Brown’s name still circulating in trade rumors this offseason.

What Romeo Doubs Would Bring to the Eagles

Doubs has never posted a 1,000-yard season, nor has he eclipsed 750 yards in a single year.

Still, he has been one of Green Bay’s more reliable targets over the past four seasons.

His consistency, particularly in the red zone, has made him a steady contributor in an otherwise young and deep Packers receiving corps.

Doubs offers durability and experience without being a declining veteran.

His playoff performance against the Bears, where he hauled in eight catches for 124 yards and a touchdown, showcased his ability to elevate in big moments.

The question is cost.

A $12 to $15 million annual price tag is significant for a player who would likely slot behind Brown and DeVonta Smith.

That number feels more aligned with a strong No. 2 option than a traditional No. 3 receiver.

How Doubs’ Potential Signing Ties to A.J. Brown’s Situation

Brown remains under contract and is coming off another 1,000-yard season despite what many considered a down year.

He has publicly expressed excitement about the new offense under Sean Mannion.

However, league chatter about potential trade conversations has not disappeared.

If Brown returns, adding Doubs at that projected price would be a luxury move for a roster with other needs.

Jahan Dotson, who served as the Eagles’ No. 3 receiver the past two seasons, is set to hit free agency and has already hinted that his time in Philadelphia may be coming to an end.

In this case, Doubs would be his replacement.

However, if Brown were to be traded, Doubs paired with Smith could represent one path forward.

It would not replicate Brown’s physical dominance or game breaking ability, but it would give the Eagles two reliable targets in their mid-20s who can make big plays.

The real question is whether that duo would be enough to carry the passing game in a new offense, or simply one of several moves the Eagles make in free agency and the draft if Brown is moved.
