The Tennessee Titans have many decisions to make during the offseason, and some of those decisions revolve around the quarterback position.

There’s no question that Cam Ward is the starting quarterback in 2026, and there’s no question that Brandon Allen will hit the free agency market. That leaves Will Levis as Ward’s backup, and that doesn’t really inspire a lot of confidence. In fact, NFL Insider Ben Solak would be surprised if the Titans kept Levis on the roster.

Will Levis, Tennessee Titans: The 2023 second-round pick lost his job to Cam Ward the moment the Titans landed the first pick in 2024. In July, Levis underwent season-ending shoulder surgery, and he is now approaching the final year of his rookie deal. A disasterclass artist so prolific he produced multiple screenshot-worthy reactions to his own turnovers, Levis is remembered worse than he actually played. He has prototypical size and good arm strength. Because the Titans’ front office and coaching staff are completely new, I’d be stunned if he isn’t traded this offseason.

Levis’ performance in Tennessee over his first two seasons wasn’t exactly what the Titans hoped for when they drafted him in 2023. Through 21 games, Levis has completed 339 passes for 3,899 yards and 21 touchdowns. He’s also thrown 16 interceptions and been sacked 69 times.

The biggest problem Levis has in Tennessee is that they aren’t going to take the time to develop two quarterbacks. Levis’ development was hampered by the coaching changes and needing surgery this offseason. Whichever team the Titans can get to trade for him will have to understand that he still needs instruction and development. Teams with uncertain quarterback situations, or those that need depth at the position will be the most likely candidates.

If the Titans do trade Levis, which seems very likely, they’ll have to have a plan for Ward’s backup in 2026.
