Indianapolis Colts linebacker Germaine Pratt is set to be a free agent this upcoming offseason.

So what might his next contract look like, and will the Colts re-sign him?

Germaine Pratt contract projection

According to Spotrac, Pratt is projected to land a one-year deal in free agency worth $2.874 million.

In terms of player age, contract status, and statistical production, Christian Rozeboom, EJ Speed, and Eric Wilson were used by Spotrac as comparisons to determine what Pratt’s deal could be.

The addition of Pratt early on in the season helped provide some stability at linebacker for the Colts. Prior to signing Pratt, several different linebackers saw starting snaps next to Zaire Franklin.

Pratt finished his season with the Colts recording 101 total tackles and holding pass-catchers to 10.1 yards per reception. He also had one interception and three pass breakups.

If Pratt’s contract is in the ballpark that Spotrac is projecting, we can’t rule out his return to the Colts. It’s a short-term deal that doesn’t break the bank.

However, GM Chris Ballard said that he wanted to get younger and faster on defense this offseason. Re-signing Pratt doesn’t accomplish that.

Prediction: Pratt is not re-signed.
