While in the San Francisco Bay Area for the 2026 Pro Bowl Games and the surrounding festivities of Super Bowl weekend, Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff made a surprise visit to his high school alma mater, Marin Catholic High School, in Kentfield, Calif.

Goff graduated from Marin Catholic in 2013 after he led the Wildcats to a 39-4 record, one North Coast Section crown in three NCS playoff appearances, and one CIF State championship appearance. In his three years as a starter, Goff threw for 7,687 yards on 477-of-767 passes for 93 touchdowns with 18 interceptions.

Goff would go on to star for the California Golden Bears for three seasons, where he set 26 program records and threw for 12,200 yards on 977-of-1,589 passes for 96 touchdowns with 30 interceptions, despite the program going 14-23 in his 37 starts. His sensational performance in Berkeley earned him the distinction of being selected No. 1 overall by the Los Angeles Rams in the 2016 NFL draft.

Now guiding Detroit’s high-powered offense for the past five seasons and earning five NFL Pro Bowl appearances, Goff’s surprise stop at his high school alma mater is yet another way the Lions’ leader is inspiring the next generation of future NFL stars.
