Raiders continue building around Klint Kubiak with Key staff additions
The Las Vegas Raiders’ coaching staff is beginning to take shape under new head coach Klint Kubiak.
After agreeing to a five-year deal, Kubiak has moved quickly to assemble a staff that blends familiarity, experience and internal continuity.
The Raiders are hiring Andrew Janocko as offensive coordinator, reuniting him with Kubiak after multiple stops together in Minnesota, New Orleans and Seattle.
While Kubiak confirmed during his introductory press conference that he will call plays in Las Vegas, something he acknowledged he has not done fully on his own before — Janocko brings experience in the same offensive system and has worked closely with Kubiak in past roles.
The familiarity could prove valuable as the Raiders install their new offensive identity this offseason.
On the defensive side, Las Vegas is promoting defensive line coach and run game coordinator Rob Leonard to defensive coordinator.
Leonard has been with the Raiders since 2023 and has worked under three different regimes in that span. His promotion signals a desire for stability on that side of the ball, particularly for a defensive front anchored by Maxx Crosby.
By staying in-house, the Raiders maintain schematic consistency while allowing Leonard to expand his role.
The Raiders are also bringing in veteran assistant Joe Woods as defensive pass game coordinator.
Woods has previous defensive coordinator experience in the NFL and adds another seasoned voice to the defensive staff. His role is expected to help oversee coverage structure and passing concepts while working alongside Leonard.
On defense, the Raiders elevate from within while adding veteran experience around that promotion.
On offense, he reunites with a long-time colleague in Andrew Janocko, someone who understands the system and can support play-calling structure.
The Raiders are also adding experience to the third phase of the game. Veteran coach Joe DeCamillis has been hired as the Special Teams Coordinator. Bringing more than 30 years of NFL experience and two Super Bowl titles to Las Vegas.
