Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce kept their first Valentine’s Day as an engaged couple under wraps, but the Kansas City Chiefs star showed that his fiancée doesn’t have to knock on wood for a flirty February 14 shout-out on Instagram. On Saturday, Kelce proved he’s Swift’s biggest fan by sharing a NSFW—and Swiftie-approved—Valentine’s Day card to the “Opalite” singer.
The athlete referenced the lyrics in Swift’s steamy Life of a Showgirl track “Wood,” which is an ode to Kelce’s manhood, in a Valentine’s Day message shared to his New Heights podcast Instagram account. With spicy lyrics like, “Forgive me, it sounds cocky. He ah-matized me and opened my eyes. Redwood tree, it ain’t hard to see. His love was the key that opened my thighs,” the cheeky song has quickly become one of Kelce’s favorite Taylor Swift songs for obvious reasons—and he flexed his own wordsmith skills in his post.

“Wood you be my Valentine?” Kelce’s Valentine’s Day card read, showing the laughing tight end next to a photo of a Redwood tree—just one of the many “Wood” references that the athlete has embraced since the track came out.
Double entendres aside, Swift recently gave fans a glimpse of a very personal love letter that Kelce penned for her during her Eras tour in her six-part docu-series The End of an Era. Ahead of her performance in Vancouver, Canada on December 6, 2024, Swift read a private message that her then-boyfriend wrote her out loud, revealing how he was “mesmerized” by her from the first moment he saw her.

“So many unbelievable memories on this tour, but my favorite one is seeing you in concert for the first time. Being mesmerized and swept off my feet by a woman who doesn’t even know me,” he wrote. Kelce then referenced the Kansas City Eras tour stop where he unsuccessfully tried to meet Swift and give her a friendship bracelet, adding, “I selfishly say thank you for creating this legendary tour, and to [tour manager] Robert [Allen] for making you stop through Kansas City, Missouri. That night in K.C. was the beginning of me meeting the love of my life.”
