Warehime’s departure comes before he ever coached a game for Kentucky, marking a significant early staff shakeup for Stein in his first year. Warehime arrived in Lexington after serving four seasons on the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers football staff under head coach Tim Beck, where he contributed to one of the Sun Belt’s most productive offenses.
His coaching career spans nearly two decades across several major programs. Warehime spent three seasons with the Texas Longhorns football from 2017–19, working as offensive line coach, tight ends coach, and later special teams coordinator. Before that, he coached the offensive line at Houston Cougars football from 2015–16, including during the Cougars’ upset of the Florida State Seminoles football in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.
Warehime also had two stints with the New Mexico Lobos football, serving as offensive coordinator and tight ends coach. A former center at Tulsa Golden Hurricane football, he started 34 games from 2001–04 and earned first-team All-WAC honors in 2004 before a brief professional stop with the Tulsa Talons of the Arena Football League.
His move to Minnesota leaves Kentucky searching once again to fill a key offensive staff role as spring preparations approach.
