With Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen set to hit unrestricted free agency this offseason, what could his next contract look like?
Spotrac projects Allen to land a one-year deal worth $6.8 million total.
After returning to Los Angeles following a one-year stint with the Bears, Allen proved to still be effective even at 33, recording 81 receptions for 777 yards and four touchdowns. He also became the fastest player in NFL history to reach 1,000 career receptions and surpassed Antonio Gates to become the Chargers’ all-time receptions leader.
Allen is 534 yards away from passing Gates as the franchise’s receiving yards leader.
Allen will be one of the more reliable veteran free agent receivers available, and he should draw interest from teams needing a proven slot if he tests the market.

With the Chargers’ ample cap space, re-signing Allen is possible. He has made it clear that he has no interest in testing free agency and wants to continue to play in L.A.
However, the question becomes whether McDaniel sees him as an option in his offense and whether it makes sense to pair him with Ladd McConkey again, as Allen’s presence cut into McConkey’s route tree and production in 2025. McConkey finished with 66 catches for 789 yards after posting 82 catches for 1,149 yards as a rookie.
