Another coach from Mike Tomlin’s staff on the Pittsburgh Steelers has found a new home in the NFL with Jim Harbaugh and the Los Angeles Chargers.

According to a report from Jordan Schultz, the Chargers are hiring former Steelers outside linebackers coach Denzel Martin as their new assistant OLBs coach.

Martin joined the Steelers staff in 2016 as a scouting assistant and became a coaching assistant in 2018. He was promoted to assistant outside linebackers coach in 2020 and held the position for three seasons. Martin most recently served as the Steelers outside linebackers coach for Pittsburgh from 2023–2025.

Additionally, the Chargers also brought in another coach with ties to Pittsburgh, former Steelers linebacker Sean Spence, who gets his first NFL coaching opportunity with Harbaugh in Los Angeles.
