The Cleveland Browns are heading into the 2026 offseason with a goal of improving the struggling offense. While tight end and running back depth are options, and another quarterback could be on the table, wide receiver and offensive line are bigger needs.

The wide receiver room is the more flashy need and might draw more attention, but the offensive line is in a significantly worse spot.

As Doug Clawson of CBS Sports noted, the Browns’ entire offensive line is hitting free agency all at the same time. That’s not happened in the NFL in the last 56 years since 1970.

This is, to say the least, some very bad news for Shedeur Sanders.

Browns to make NFL history for first time since 1970 with entire OL hitting free agency

“Me: No team since 1970 has lost its entire starting offensive line in the same offseason,” Clawson posted.

“The 2026 Browns: Challenge accepted!”

This post from Clawson was accompanied by a picture that Sanders and the Browns offense likely don’t want to look at.

Left tackle Cam Robinson, left guard Joel Bitonio, center Ethan Pocic, right guard Wyatt Teller and right tackle Jack Conklin are all free agents this offseason.

The Browns are losing their entire starting offensive line to free agency. While they can still re-sign one of these players before they hit free agency, or even get one back in free agency, this is still a bad look for the Browns.

Sanders, or whoever the Browns quarterback will be in 2026, will have to operate behind what could be an entirely new offensive line.

While upgrades can be nice, having a new unit in its entirety is a tricky situation. It’s a new offense under Todd Monken, and the entire offensive line might be different.

History hasn’t been made just yet, as one of these lineman coming back would stop the Browns from losing all of their offensive linemen in one offseason.

But all of these players are very possibly entertaining offers from other teams, and with the Browns unlikely to use the franchise tag, they could very well lose all of their starting offensive linemen from the 2025 NFL season in one offseason.
