After going just 7-10 in 2025, the Miami Dolphins have undergone several major changes. Along with hiring head coach Jeff Hafley and general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan, the team opted to release wide receiver Tyreek Hill.
Over the past four seasons in Miami, he racked up 340 receptions for 4,733 yards, 27 touchdowns and two Pro Bowl appearances. However, he appeared in only four games last year after suffering a torn ACL.

While releasing Hill saved Miami nearly $23 million, it leaves a hole at wide receiver. He’ll be 32 years old when next season begins and is expected to be a solid contributor for whichever team signs him.

To fill the gap that Hill leaves, Pro Football Focus’ Gordon McGuinness predicts that the Dolphins will select Arizona State Sun Devils wide receiver Jordyn Tyson with the 11th pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
“The Dolphins are releasing Tyreek Hill, and Jaylen Waddle has been the subject of trade rumors over the past year,” McGuinness wrote. “Even if Waddle sticks around, this is a good opportunity for the Dolphins to secure another top receiving talent. Tyson earned an 89.0 PFF overall grade against man coverage and averaged 2.37 yards per route run in 2025.”

Over the past four seasons, Tyson had hauled in 158 receptions for 2,282 yards and 22 touchdowns. He put together a productive stat line for the Sun Devils in 2025 with 61 receptions, 711 yards and eight touchdowns. At 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, Tyson also has solid size for an NFL receiver.
The Dolphins are in desperate need of another reliable wide receiver outside of Waddle. Selecting him at that spot wouldn’t be considered a reach either. ESPN lists Tyson as the ninth-best player available in the draft.
