Three Raiders legends will make up nearly half of the inaugural class of the Hispanic Football Hall of Fame.

Coach Tom Flores, quarterback Jim Plunkett and linebacker Ted Hendricks will all be enshrined on May 5 in a ceremony hosted by the Raiders at the team facility in Henderson as part of the Celebración de Fútbol.

The Raiders trio won two Super Bowls together over a five-year period.

Flores, who won additional rings with the Chiefs as a backup quarterback and as an assistant to John Madden, is a Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee after being enshrined in 2021.

“It means a lot,” Flores told Raiders.com on Tuesday of the honor. “It shows what we can do. It sets a principle that no one should hold off on hiring one of us. Because the business we’re in is all about winning.”

Hendricks went into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1990, three years after he was inducted in the College Football Hall of Fame. He is the first Guatemalan-born player in the NFL.

Plunkett is in the College Football Hall of Fame, but joins Eli Manning as the only two-time Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks not having been elected to the pro football version.

He won the Heisman Trophy at Stanford as was the No 1 pick in the draft to the Patriots in 1970.

The inaugural class, announced Tuesday, also includes Anthony Muñoz, Ron Rivera, Steve Van Buren and Tom Fears.

“The Hispanic Football Hall of Fame was created to recognize and celebrate the profound impact Hispanic athletes and leaders have had on the game of football,” said Sandy Nunez, Selection Committee Chairperson. “This inaugural class reflects excellence, lasting legacy, and a future where the next generation can see themselves at the highest levels of the sport.”

Also set to be honored by the Hispanic Football Hall of Fame this year are pro player of the year Nik Bonitto, college player of the year Fernando Mendoza and high school player of the year Ryan Estrada.
