The Miami Dolphins have been busy this week making major moves, including cutting No.1 receiver Tyreek Hill.
Now there are reports that the Dolphins’ No. 2 receiver, Jaylen Waddle, was almost traded to the Giants, according to NFL Insider Richard Johnson.
The Dolphins would have traded Waddle for the Giants’ backup quarterback, Jameis Winston, but the Giants declined.
Waddle later came out and denied reports from a fake NFL Insider who posted that Waddle wanted to be traded.
The star wide receiver posted a blue cap on his X account, symbolizing that the insider was capping, or lying about, the report.Â

Since Hill’s injury, Waddle has been the Dolphins’ go-to guy at wide receiver. Although he didn’t put up a 1,000-yard season for the second straight season, he has, however, put up 1,000-yard seasons in his first three seasons.
So, it looks like Waddle is staying, at least for now, but the Dolphins are apparently serious about making changes on offense, and while Waddle looks like he will be in Miami for now, it sounds like the team is shopping him.Â
Do not be surprised if Waddle is no longer a Dolphins uniform when this 2026 season starts.Â
