The Green Bay Packers can cross off Mexico City as a potential international game site.
The NFL announced on Feb. 18 that the San Francisco 49ers would be one of the teams playing in the Mexican capital. The Packers do not play the 49ers during the 2026 season. That makes two international games for the 49ers, who also are scheduled to play the Los Angeles Rams in Melbourne, Australia.

The NFL plans a record nine international games this season. The league said the Dallas Cowboys would be one of the teams assigned to the game in Rio de Janeiro. The Packers are scheduled to play Dallas this season at Lambeau Field.
The Green Bay Packers played the New York Giants on Oct. 9, 2022, at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
It was announced earlier that the Jacksonville Jaguars will play in one of three London games and the New Orleans Saints will play in Paris. The Jaguars are not on the Packers’ schedule, but the Saints are. The Packers are scheduled to be the visiting team versus the Saints.
Current rumors are that the Cleveland Browns will be the Saints’ opponent in Paris, but that has not been confirmed by the NFL. RMC Sport, a French sports news company, said the Saints will host the Browns. The BrownsWire website said the game will be during Week 7, on Oct. 25, at Stade de France.

Other games will be in Madrid and Munich. Teams for those games have not been announced.

The Packers, who last played abroad in 2024, likely will be tabbed for one of the remaining games. The international schedule will require at least 17 of the NFL’s 32 teams, assuming no other teams have two games.
The Packers were the final NFL team to play internationally when they met the New York Giants in London in 2022. They played the Philadelphia Eagles in São Paulo, Brazil, in 2024. They lost both games.

This will be the sixth time the NFL plays in Mexico City. The league said that Mexico has 40 million fans, the largest fanbase outside of the United States.
The full NFL schedule will be announced in May, although more international game pairings likely will be announced before then.
