Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay looks on before a game against the New Orleans Saints.
Head coach Sean McVay and the Los Angeles Rams have already been busy molding their roster ahead of the 2026 offseason, signing players to futures deals, and even a ceremonial one-day pact for wide receiver Robert Woods’ retirement.
Their next move could have more tangible results.
At the very least, the Rams have bolstered their depth, specifically along the offensive line, with veteran David Quessenberry, a sixth-round pick of the Houston Texans in 2013.
Rams Announce Roster Move With David Quessenberry

The Rams announced in a post on X on February 18 that “We’ve re-signed OL David Quessenberry to one-year deal [hand writing emoji].” Quessenberry spent his first season with the Rams in 2025.
“Quessenberry, 35, was a pending unrestricted free agent,” TheRams.com’s Stu Jackson wrote in the official release for the move. “Other than playing 12 offensive snaps late in the Rams’ 45-17 Week 14 blowout win over the Cardinals, Quessenberry primarily saw action on special teams in the 13 games he played in his first season in Los Angeles.
“He first joined the Rams on a one-year deal on May 29, 2025.”
The Athletic’s Nate Atkins noted that Quessenberry marks LA’s first official in-house signing. Quessenberry has also played for the Buffalo Bills, Minnesota Vikings, and Tennessee Titans.
Quessenberry was on a $1.3 million contract with the Rams. He has earned $9.9 million in his career. The 2026 offseason does not officially begin until March 11. That is when players’ contracts from 2025 expire or toll for the upcoming campaign.
Instead, the Rams get ahead of a situation that is more settled than some may believe.
Rams’ OTs In Good Spot Heading Into Offseason

Along with heavy doses of secondary help, some mock drafts have projected the Rams will bolster their roster along the offensive line.
CBS Sports’ Tom Fornelli projected Georgia’s Monroe Freeling to the Rams with the 29th overall pick, after selecting popular speculative target and cornerback Jermod McCoy with the No. 13 overall pick.
Rams Week 1 starting right tackle Rob Havenstein announced his retirement this offseason.
However, the Rams are already prepared with Havenstein’s replacement, having inserted 2023 fifth-round selection Warren McClendon in at the RT spot with success this past season.
Unless the Rams value Warren more as a bench contributor than they view him as being a long-term solution as a starter, it could make more sense to bolster other roster spots in the draft, or maybe even find quarterback Matthew Stafford’s eventual successor.
Left tackle is also secured, with Alaric Jackson signed through the 2027 season on a three-year, $57.7 million deal.
The Rams’ interior O-line is also in good shape.
Rams Have Decisions to Make
GettySteve Avila #73, Kevin Dotson #69, and Matthew Stafford #9 of the Los Angeles Rams take the field before a game against the Buffalo Bills.
Starting right guard Kevin Dotson is among the best at his position when healthy, per Stafford, while left guard Steve Avila continues to ascend. Center Coleman Shelton returned from a one-year stint with the Chicago Bears to shore up the pivot.
Notably, though, all but Jackson are entering the final year of their contracts up front for the Rams, setting the stage for some significant decisions.
Still, it could prove faulty to expect the Rams to address right tackle over other roster spots.
